The new school term is well underway now, students are finding their feet again and hoepfully getting into the learning mode.
Through my mentoring role I have discovered that many students need that something extra. Mentoring can be the difference maker for some – having someone who is acting as a point of accountability, a challenger to their normal way of doing things, a motivator pushing them towards the future they desire.
excelyourself training work in partnership with schools to help students fulfil their potential. Our aim is to compliment the great work already being done by the school. To be an outside voice coming in and encouraging students in to developing the right kind of habits that can set them up for success in life.
If you are school based in County Durham then you can take advantage of a ‘taster session’.

I love developing people in their leadership skills, so identifying the reasons why they may be stuck or not moving forward is something that I can fall into quite easily. Solving problems – its not easy to stop yourself.
As a Life Coach I am continually learning this skill – letting the client discover the answers themselves!
Maybe you feel like you need a fresh start.
Maybe you feel stuck and want to move forward more freely.
Maybe you have an obstacle to overcome.
A Life Coach may help. Talking through the options, being challenged by someone outside of the immediate circumstances – its amazing the focus that this can bring. You might get there on your own but then again, you might not.
Make the investment in your future. Contact us and we can give you more information about the ways we can help you, your staff, your team.

When was the last time you acted based on your intuition?
I think it’s something that we use without really thinking about it. We just know, that it ‘feels’ right or ‘feels’ wrong – then we act accordingly. But help me out here, next you time have a decision to make, pause, think about it and when you make the choice tell me about it – what actually happened?
Intuition is an incredible thing. Do you trust yours? When you have made decisions based on it, have they turned out right or not?
Leave me your thoughts, I would love to gain more insight into the true world of peoples intuitive abilities.

Vision is vital. Too many people live life without purpose. That’s where a life coach can really help.
Focus helps brings results.
Focus narrows the options.
Focus helps you say no to the right things.
Life coaching is all about helping you focus and getting you the result you desire.
You get from life coaching what you put in…it’s an investment in your true potential.
I count it a privilege and a joy to get involved in people’s lives and help them move forward. Let me help you unlock the future you really want!

Looking forward to spending 2 days with a bunch of Yr10 students next week at Durham University. I get the privilege of motivating 140 students about how to dream big and how to make that dream a reality.
I shall be talking about BECOMING MAGNIFICENT.
What does it mean and how to make it a happen. Too many young people live for ‘whatever’. The aim of summer school is to inspire young people to go for something that perhaps they never considered they could.
We will talk about Decision Making, Practice, Passion, Perseverance and much more. Hopefully have some fun too! If you are going to be there let me know – or leave your comments after!

It’s tough at the moment. Loads of reasons why you can’t succeed. Stuck in a job but cannot afford to leave it. Want to move forward but afraid of what it might mean.
Having a life coach could be considered something new but actually they have been around for years. A life coach is just a individual who can help you be where you really want to be. A true life coach won’t necessarily give you the answers but they will help you discover answers for yourself.
3 reasons to have a life coach…
1. To take you from where you are to where you want to be
2. To keep you moving forward on that journey – whatever challenges you may face
3. To act as a point of accountability
Everyone can have a great idea of what they would like to do but not everyone can achieve it on their own. Having a life coach walking that journey with you, believing in you and encouraging you along the way can make an incredible difference. Why not find out more by emailing us today!

Just after some of your thoughts and wisdom, so don’t just read – leave a comment too!!
Thinking about how people interact with each other, particularly at work. Don’t know about you but I can remember some managers who you would not want to approach for advice on a problem you were trying to solve.
How does your manager help you or otherwise when you are seeking advice because you have failed to find the solution to a problem? Which side of the fence do they fall on: command or coach?
Don’t be afraid: share your experiences. Thanks

Love to hear what people say in response to a question like this. Working schools and with young people regularly sometimes it can be easy to forget that its not just about hitting targets but there is a person involved too.
Are we just great motivators?
Are we coaches?
Are we helping young people set new destinations for their life?
Are we just about passing GCSE’s?
Are we about creating new ideas?
Are we meant to have formulas or act intuitively?
I think a mentor can play an incredibly vital role in the development of a young person but maybe I’m just biased because I am one. What do you reckon?
